On losing a job I loved, and finding something better: a stronger version of myself

Some chapters end unexpectedly, even the great ones.

Almost a year ago, after a long search, I found what felt like the perfect role: Lead Graphic Designer at Elite.com. The mission was clear and exciting: elevate the Elite brand to the next level.

And we did it. As a marketing team, we poured everything we had into that goal. Through strategic branding, compelling visuals, and relentless creative campaigns, we made Elite bigger and stronger. Today, lawyers all around the world know Elite and the unique solutions it brings to the world’s best law firms. I am incredibly proud of the impact my designs and ideas had in achieving that.

After a year of this intense, rewarding work, our mission was accomplished. A new management team arrived with a different strategy, and our team’s chapter at Elite came to a close.

To be honest, it would be easy to see this as a hard day. To finally find a role where your work is valued and recognized, where you can see your designs making a real difference, and then have it end suddenly—that’s a tough moment for anyone.

But I see it differently. I’ve learned to value myself and my work in ways I never did before. Those endless hours and late nights for a company I still admire weren’t wasted. Every single click of the mouse, every unseen moment of frustration to meet a deadline, and every creative challenge overcome—they were not just for a project. They were building blocks. 🧱

They were building a better, more skilled, and more ambitious version of me. They refined my craft and solidified my purpose. As a designer in an ever-evolving industry, I know these experiences have forged me into a key addition for any team that wants to move forward with passion and resilience.

I end this reflection with gratitude. I thank God for the journey, for my life, and for using every experience—the triumphant and the trying—to make me a better man, a better husband, and a better dad. My faith in Jesus has transformed what could have been a moment of hardship into a moment of profound opportunity and hope.

My next chapter is waiting to be written, and I am ready. ✨

Thank you for reading my story. If it resonates with you, I’d love to connect.
